**IMPORTANT NOTICE** the ‘Demorgan’ galleries will be closed Mon 19th to Weds 21st for changes to the displays and re-open on Thursday 22nd On display in the hall is a hand-picked selection of artworks from the De Morgan Collection. It is an unparalleled collection of work by the late 19th and early 20th century ceramicist William De Morgan and his artist wife Evelyn Pickering De Morgan.


Cannon Hall is a unique venue for weddings and civil partnerships and the perfect setting for your special day. Fantastic photo opportunities can be found both inside the Hall and in the landscaped gardens.

Parks for People Project

Cannon Hall Museum, Park and Gardens has secured earmarked funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund for major improvements and conservation work around the gardens and park, including the restoration of Cannon Hall's Georgian lakes.

Many of the beautiful spaces are available to hire for events as well as the gorgeous Cottage Gardens and parklands.

Cannon Hall Museum, Park and Gardens have announced that a very special exhibition will be arriving to the Hall in late summer next year. They look forward to hosting the prestigious International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) touring exhibition number thirteen, which for the very first time will see artwork displayed both inside and outside the Hall. Work included is exquisite, hand-picked pieces from a selection of award-winning entries.

Double win for Barnsley Museums of prestigious Sandford Award

Cannon Hall Museum and Elsecar Heritage Centre, two of Barnsley Museums’ five fantastic free sites have secured a Sandford Award for Heritage Education. This was given for their outstanding learning programme and facilities available to school visits.

Cannon Halls’ latest exhibition is simply ‘Pear’fect

Cannon Hall, Barnsley’s stunning Georgian Country House Museum, will be celebrating the opening of their latest exhibition ‘Pears and Apples’ on Saturday, 25 May. Featuring the stunning work of Elisabeth Dowle, one of the worlds most respected and talented botanical artists, visitors are ‘core’dially invited to come along and see the collection of beautiful watercolours, which will be on display together for the very first time.
