Barnsley Museums secure over £70,000 worth of funding

Barnsley Museums have secured funding of £79,200 from Arts Council England to help develop their charitable organisation.

Barnsley Museum Heritage Trust supports the work of Barnsley Museums and has an active role in fundraising for the five sites which include; Cannon Hall, Worsbrough Mill, Elsecar Heritage, Experience Barnsley and the Cooper Gallery.

The money received from Arts Council England will allow the Trust to increase marketing, raise awareness and also support fundraising activities.  All donations received by the Trust will then be reinvested into Barnsley Museums to support development and enhance the offer to visitors.

Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet spokesperson for Place, said: “We are delighted that the Barnsley Museum Heritage Trust has been given the opportunity to develop and grow through the funding secured from the Arts Council.  All of our wonderful museums offer a great visitor experience and are all free to enter. To continue to offer such a great service the museums needs the support of the trust in order to raise funds. We urge all who can to support Barnsley Museums in any way that they can.”
