Fashion History in Your Hands with Dr Cordula van Wyhe
Join Cordula van Wyhe from the DMDA (Digital Museum of Dress Accessories, University of York) for a hands-on session on the history of dress accessories.
You will gain an understanding of the scale, weight, portability of these historic objects and the mechanisms and dexterity required to handle them.
You will also learn how this material literacy and bodily skill helped to define their owner’s taste, knowledge, and social status. Not only the past, but also the present will become alive in your hands in new ways.
This event is BSL interpreted.
