Join us to celebrate the works of Christy Keeney and unlock your creativity this summer!

From Saturday 17 May to Sunday 28 September, you can discover unique ceramics, vibrant paintings, and inspirational drawings created by the renowned Irish artist.

On loan from a local collector, Dr Graham Cooley, modern artwork meets historic beauty in this special exhibition.

The celebrated Irish ceramicist and artist studied at the Royal College of Art in London, under the mentorship of Eduardo Paolozzi. Inspired during a visit to a Picasso exhibition in the 1980s, his figurative ceramics are formed from flat slabs of clay which are then reassembled to create three-dimensional pieces.

Keeney’s sculptures, paintings and drawings explore the shape of the body, both human and animal. The bright
colours and geometric shapes in the paintings create a rich, often domestic, background for the figures. He invites us to look at the body as a series of pieces formed, taken apart and then reformed back together again.
